Q. Where is the space located?

A. The heart of Downtown LA, in the Fashion District. The studio is located on the second floor of the Bendix Building. There is a map of the location at the bottom of this page.

Q. How big is the space?

A. The studio is 837 square feet, with massive walls of windows on two sides (West and North sides). It has concrete floors, with paint splatters, and white walls with high ceilings.

Q. what is included in renting the space?

A. We want to accommodate your needs, so the space can be set up in a personalized way.

What’s included:

  • 1 white california, casual style couch

  • 1 mini-fridge

  • 1 tea kettle

  • 1 drafting table, can be used as desk or for snacks

  • 2 rokit-5, studio monitor speakers with AUX plug-in cord/mini lightning adaptor

  • 1 trash can, trash bags

  • hundreds of black tatami puzzle mats that can fill the space for movement use

  • string lights, top lighting, and candles for night time use, as well as lots of windows that open and allow lots of natural light during the day

  • altar items: oracle card decks, crystals, tapestries

  • 6 visionary art paintings by Zach Statler

  • 1 artist’s ladder + 2 artist’s easels open for use in photoshoots

  • meditation cushions / chairs (available for rent by local companies)

  • foyer space just outside the studio is a common use space with a large shop sink

  • two bathrooms on the same floor around the corner, with multiple stalls

  • two elevators and a freight elevator located in the building for use

Q. When is the best time for film or photoshoots?

A. Depends on the time of year, sun/clouds, but there is defuse, natural lighting in the morning around 10 or 11am or direct sun in the afternoon around 2-3pm. As said above the windows are located on West and North sides of the space. Check in with us and we can help plan for the best results.

Q. What are the hours of use?

A.  The building is open 6am-12am (midnight) daily, except Sundays it opens at 8am. Contact us here about renting the space and one of us will meet you there to let you in.

Q. La traffic? What’s the best time to host something?

A. Oh yes, LA. Traffic flow is real.

 

Q. Parking?

A. There is parking located under the building for flat rate of $8/day, or $5/after 3pm weekdays and $10/day on weekends. Street parking is free on Sundays and all other days after 6pm, otherwise it is $2/hour. There is usually ample street parking during the evenings, when the street vendors close down.
